HABCIA is a collaborative effort of students at Harvard University to promote discourse on critical issues affecting Asia and its business environment. Our conference this year, co-hosted by Fudan University, will be held on August 21, 2004 in Shanghai, China. HABCIA aims to bring together business students from the world's foremost universities, young professionals based in Asia and prominent leaders in the fields of government, economics, business, and law.

Perspectives from Asia: Business As Usual?
The Harvard Asia Business Conference In Asia (HABCIA) is a collaborative effort of students at Harvard University to promote discourse on critical issues affecting Asia and its business environment. HABCIA, like its parent organization the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR), is Harvard's student outpost in Asia, offering a sustained academic program and a forum of exchange to facilitate discussion of the most important business issues relevant to the Asia-Pacific region. Our conference this year, co-hosted by Fudan University, will be held on August 21, 2004 in Shanghai, China.
In its inaugural year, HABCIA aims to bring together business students from the world's foremost universities, young professionals based in Asia and prominent leaders in the fields of government, economics, business, and law. HABCIA is the sister conference of the Harvard Asia Business Conference (HABC), which is held every year on the campus of the Harvard Business School. While HABC is the largest Asia-related conference in North America, HABCIA seeks to become the largest business-related conference in Asia.
CONTENT
HABCIA consists of three keynote addresses, and two plenary sessions of three panels each. Each panel will feature three to five speakers and a moderator. The specific panel topics were developed by our Content Team in conjunction with our Board of Advisors. They cover a range of industries: consumer products, automobiles, consumer finance, technology, infrastructure and media.
Among the six different panels, the consistent themes of the Conference will be:
a) To evaluate the challenges facing specific industries as Asian economies reinvent themselves to generate sustainable growth;
b) to discuss the strategies that Asian government officials and business leaders are adopting to capture the opportunities and overcome the challenges of globalization; and
c) to explore business opportunities in the Asian economic landscape.
APPLICATION
HABCIA extends delegate invitation to all business students (college level or beyond, with no age restriction as long as you are a student) and young professionals. To apply as a regular delegate, you need to fill out our online conference application. We only accept online forms and are no longer accepting paper applications. There are no application fees. After you have started an application, you can continue to modify the application until the deadline of April 7th, 2004. The online application link:
