Abstract
The desire to have meaningful work and a fulfilling family life is common across most societies. As such, research that investigates the intersection of work and family has grown tremendously over the past several decades.  In the current talk, I will review a program of work and family research that has investigated work-family conflict across the globe and discuss several ideas for future cross-national work and family research.
 
Speaker’s brief Bio: 
Tammy Allen is a Professor of Psychology at the University of South Florida, she received her Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee in 1996.  The author of 80 peer-reviewed journal articles, 3 books, and over 20 book chapters, her research and consulting work are in the areas of work-family, career development/mentoring, citizenship behavior, and occupational health. She is current Associate Editor of Journal of Applied Psychology and past Associate Editor of Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, and has served on the editorial boards of Journal of Management, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Vocational Behavior, Human Performance, and Journal of Organizational Behavior.  She is a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) and the American Psychological Association.  She is a former member of the Executive Board of the SIOP and currently serves as Chair of Scientific Affairs.
