题 目：Dynamic Inducements in R&D investment: market signals and network locations.
Abstract:
This research shows that networks shape how firms respond to uncertainty-reducing information generated outside the network. New product awards provide market signals about the potential commercial success of the award winning firms, which reduces the uncertainty of new R&D investment. Newworks both magnify and diminish a focal firm's R&D response to the market signals, depending on its network location, partners' success, technical proximity to partners, and relative capability. The study examines 198 firms in the U.S. information and communications industry from 1991 to 2000.
