The purpose of this study is to show the relationship between Chinese information technology entrepreneurs’ competition cognitions and their venture’s growth. We will be doing interviews on this trip to Beijing and based on these and others in the US, a script-cue (expert-based) instrument will be created. Questionnaires will be administered to 100+ Chinese business owners in IT services. Results will show individual and firm differences in orientation toward competition/growth. Two years later objective growth data will be obtained and parallel studies in India and the US will show national similarities/differences in approaches to competition and the impact of these on growth.
