Call for papers:2010 Symposium on Frontiers in Financial Research

THE 2010 SYMPOSIUM ON FRONTIERS IN FINANCIAL RESEARCH (SFFR 2010)
CALL FOR PAPERS

Athens University of Economics & Business
Athens, July 29th 2010

KEYNOTE SPEAKER:

David Hillier

Centenary Professor and Ziff Chair in Financial Markets
Leeds University Business School

This symposium has a threefold aim. First, it will offer an executive brief of the state-of-the art in financial research that appeared over the past year. Second, it will introduce participants to fresh approaches, concepts and tools borrowed from other disciplines of business and science. Third, this event will allow academics in finance to communicate ambitious research which involves big ideas, out-of-the-box thinking or promising areas of investigation. We are interested on papers spanning from the "seed" level to fully developed manuscripts. The focus of the symposium is on delivering in a short amount of time an enjoyable learning and social experience to participants. Thus, in addition to purely academic potential we expect that presenters will employ their best communication skills to deliver their research and make an impact in a fascinating manner.

Since a very selective group of papers will be included in the program, presenters will have the full attention of the audience and access to valuable feedback. The symposium will add value to the work of researchers by making all presentations available over the web (digital proceedings in real time on the conference website). There will be a keynote address by David Hillier (Centenary Professor and Ziff Chair in Financial Markets, University of Leeds) and presentation of invited papers by leading academics in the field.

TOPICS:

Papers are invited on issues relating to any area of financial research, including (but not limited to) corporate finance, investments, financial accounting and reporting, public finance, financial econometrics and mathematics, behavioural finance, financial markets, corporate governance, private equity, banking and financial intermediation, derivatives, financial and credit risk management and international finance.

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:

Papers should be sent as an electronic copy in PDF format, by 31st May 2010. Presenters will be notified of the acceptance of their papers from 15 June 2010 onwards.
