INTRODUCTION

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the University of Texas at Dallas have partnered to host a research forum on 15 – 17 December 2010. The forum will address how the current global economic crisis will impact education programs and the orientation of research in the future.

We are calling for contributions in the form of regular or position papers concerning new research problems and new training initiatives.

The forum encourages an interdisciplinary momentum, coherent with the nature of the global crisis.

CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS

The Scientific and Organizing Committees welcome contributions in the form of regular papers or discussion papers. Papers may emphasize new problems suggested by the global crisis and (in the case of regular papers) the methods and models related to them. Discussion papers may provide an analysis of the drawbacks of current models and approaches as well as suggesions for improvement. The selected papers will be considered for publication in a special issue of Risk and Decision Analysis, IOS Press.

Submission Guidelines
An electronic version of the paper in Word format or PDF should be submitted to fbForum@polyu.edu.hk. Contributors should send a title and an abstract of their presentation by 31 July 2010. Acceptance will be indicated by 15 August 2010. Full papers (normally 20 pages) should be submitted by 31 August 2010.

REGISTRATION FEE
Conference registration fee covers participation in all sessions, refreshment breaks, lunches and conference banquet.
Early Bird Offer – On or before 1 September 2010
Full Registration US$200 (HK$1,600)
Student Registration* US$100 (HK$800)

Regular Registration Fee – After 1 September 2010
Full Registration US$250 (HK$2,000)
Student Registration* US$125 (HK$1,000)

* Full-time students are entitled to the Student rate. To qualify, you must send a scanned image of your current student I.D. card to together with the registration form.
