受中国国家自然科学基金和美国国家卫生研究院（NIH）的资助，北京大学中国经济研究中心将举办健康养老研究培训项目，在全国范围选拔十位优秀的年轻学者，接受中外专家委员会的指导，使用“中国健康养老追踪调查数据”进行国际水平的研究。培训目标是帮助一批中国年轻学者提升研究水平，并且促进国际交流与合作。
研究内容主要包括，但是不局限于如下范围：
1. The gradients between socio-economic status (SES) and different dimensions of health
2. Underdiagnoses of certain diseases associated with population aging, specifically, the differences between biological measurements taken by the survey nurse and reported doctor diagnoses, and what SES factors underlie these differences
3. The retirement behavior of the elderly and its relationship to health
4. The living arrangements of the elderly and their relationships to health
培训项目将包含如下内容：
一、 培训课程，定于2010年8月25-29日在北京大学中国经济研究中心举办，主要内容是中外专家就以上研究主题介绍国际前沿，听取培训学员报告研究设想，讨论并且确定研究题目和研究内容。
二、 将在2011和2012年夏天举行研讨班，每次为期4-5天，中外专家委员会和培训学员全体参与，主要由培训学员报告研究进展，就研究论文进行充分的讨论。
三、 中外专家委员会和培训学员参加每年一次的CHARLS用户会议, ”International Conference on China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study”
四、 2010年9月开始每月举办一次研讨，在北京的培训学员和专家委员会成员参加，讨论研究进展。
五、 组织培训学员参加中国经济学年会，中国女经济学家论坛等大型学术会议。

培训学员资格要求：
在大专院校和研究机构从事科研或教学的经济学者。具体要求如下：
1． 具有经济学或者医学、公共卫生博士学位；
2． 有进行实证研究和论文写作的经验；
3． 能够熟练阅读英文文献，能够熟练用英语交流。
4． 培训学员最好已经是CHARLS数据用户，并且将向”International Conference on China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study” 投稿，论文题目最好在培训覆盖的研究内容范围内，但是并不局限于那些范围。
报名方式及申请材料：
请提供一份学术简历，及能够反应本人研究水平的论文一篇（可以是未发表文稿），最好是使用微观数据进行计量分析内容的论文。请附向”International Conference on China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study”投稿的论文或者摘要。
报名截止日期为2010年4月20日，我们将于一个月内通知录取结果。
