The Center for Economic Development Research (Wuhan University， Wuhan， Hubei， China) with the Institute for Industrial and Market Studies， Faculty of Economics (National Research University – Higher School of Economics， Moscow， Russia)， and Graduate School of Economics and Management (Ural Federal Yeltzin University， Yekaterinburg， Russia) announce the call for papers for international academic conference entitled “Adjustment of Economic Structure and Sustainable Development: Perspectives in Russia and China” to be held on October 4-5， 2012 in Yekaterinburg.
This conference will be of a great help for researchers from various countries by organizing a discussion on the most urgent issues in the field of structural questions on economic growth and development in Russia and China， empirical research as well as the elaboration of various approaches to the methods of data collection and analysis. The aim of the conference is to take a step forward in the comparative empirical research of both economy for the further reduction of gaps in data and methodology， as well as to develop recommendations for policy makers.
We invite researchers to present their work on international benchmarking with the use of modern empirical research methodologies and expect to learn new lessons in this field for transition and developing countries. We welcome studies with a comparative perspective over time， between and within countries based on panel or cross-section empirical data.

The working language of the Conference is English.
Invited key-note speaker is Prof. Julan Du (Chinese University of Hong Kong). The second key-note is to be determined.
Deadline for submission of extended abstracts: 30 April 2012
Acceptance of submitted abstracts: 01 June 2012
Submission of final papers: 01 September 2012
The application should include the following information:
·the title of the proposed paper，
·an extended abstract consists of up to 7000 characters，
·personal contact details (full name， job title， institutional affiliation， current position， postal address， contact phone， fax， and e-mail address).
Abstracts should be in RTF， Microsoft Word or PDF formats， should include three to five key words and JEL classification numbers， and indicate to which theme among above listed topics it is submitted. The best papers after peer-review can be published in the International Journal of Economic Policy in Emerging Economies (http://www.inderscience.com/browse/index.php?journalCODE=ijepee). If participants want to have this chance， please， put words “can be submitted to IJEPEE” on the first page with the conference title. There is no registration fee. Participants themselves will cover their own round-trip travel expenses and accommodation (excluding for key-note speakers). The Organizational committee provides help in arranging visas， accommodation and transportation from the airport to the hotel and back.
The conference will host on October 5， 2012 an EACES workshop titled ‘Upgrade the International Competitiveness of Export Industries and Transform the Pattern of Economic Development’.
The preliminary time schedule for the conference is as follows:
·Oct. 3rd， participants arrive at Yekaterinburg， check in the hotel (to be decided)
·Oct. 04–05th， a roundtable conference will be held for two days
·Oct. 05th， EACES workshop.
·Oct. 5th a tour around the City of Yekaterinburg.
·Oct. 6th， participants leave.
Participants are invited to submit abstracts of their research papers for presentation at the Conference. Submissions should be sent to the following email address: ludmila.ruzhanskaya@usu.ru with a title (China-Russia Conference). Authors of papers selected for the conference should register as conference participants and submit their full-text papers (in Microsoft Word， RTF or PDF， up to 20 000 characters long， incl. spaces) for publication on the Conference web-site by September 01， 2012.
