Daniel Yergin is a highly respected authority on energy policy and international politics and economics. He is Chairman of Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA), the leading advisory firm to the global energy industry.
Dr. Yergin is both a Pulitzer Prize winner and recipient of the United States Energy Award for "lifelong achievements in energy and the promotion of international understanding."
His most recent book, The Commanding Heights: The Battle for the World Economy, has received wide attention for its analysis and narrative of how the "world is changing its mind about markets." It has been translated into 13 languages and made into a six-hour documentary and is the major television series on globalization on US public television. Prof. Zhou Qiren at CCER uses this documentary as teaching material in his classes for BiMBA and CCER students.
Dr. Yergin received the Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction for his work The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money and Power, which became a #1 national best seller and was made into an eight-hour series by US public television and Britain's BBC station.
Dr. Yergin received his BA from Yale University and his PhD from Cambridge University, where he was a Marshall Scholar.
