Professor Chen received his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1988. In addition to book chapters, newspapers articles, and conference proceedings, he has written for the Journal of Alternative Investments, Financial Review, Journal of Futures Markets, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Advances in Finance, Investment, and Banking, Global Finance Journal, Advances in Pacific Basin Business, Economics, and Finance, Valuation Strategies, International Journal of Business, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Annals of Economics and Finance, and other journals. His more recent articles have focused on financial topics relating to corporate control, capital structure, IPOs, emerging markets, asset pricing, and risk management. Furthermore, he is the founding director of the Center for China Finance and Business Research (CFCFBR).
