John Cieslak was appointed Co-Chief Executive Officer of TSX Group in October of 2004 with overall responsibility for the Group's financial management, communications, legal and regulatory activities as well as all information technology divisions. He remains the Company's Chief Information Officer and Head of TSX Technologies – the Group's stand alone technology consulting practice.
Mr. Cieslak has more than 18 years of both business and technical experience in the securities industry. Prior to joining TSX Group, he was Vice President, Information Technology Services & Chief Information Officer for National Bank Financial. Previous to this he held senior management positions at First Marathon Securities Ltd. and Burns Fry Ltd.
Mr. Cieslak served as Chair of the Toronto Stock Exchange Systems Committee from 1997 to 1998, has been a member of the Canadian Depository for Securities Technology Committee, and has participated on various Canadian Capital Markets (CCMA) committees.
Mr. Cieslak is a graduate of The University of Western Ontario with a B.Sc.
